Visitors are welcome to the Hospital, however, they must adhere to the designated visiting times, and visitor restrictions and precautions.
Centre for Rehabilitation and Adult Orthopaedic Wards
- Monday to Friday, 6 pm to 7 pm
- Saturday and Sunday, 3 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 7 pm
Cappagh Kids Inpatient Ward
- Monday to Friday, 6 pm to 7 pm
- One parent/guardian must stay with the paediatric patient for the duration of their admission.
- Only one person is permitted at the bedsite. Parents/Guardians can alternate throughout the day.
- Visitors under the age of 18 allowed are not permitted. Children may be permitted to visit in exceptional circumstances.
Visitor Precautions
COVID-19
Covid-19 remains a threat, especially to vulnerable patients. You must sanitise your hands upon entering the Hospital and regularly during your visit. If you test positive for COVID-19 test within seven days of your visit, please inform the Ward Manager.
Respiratory Illnesses
Respiratory illnesses can cause symptoms such as a cold, decreased appetite, coughing, sneezing, fever, and wheezing. Although most people recover within a week or two, infants and older adults may experience serious complications. Therefore, if you experience any of these symptoms, please avoid visiting the hospital.
The National Orthopaedic Hospital Cappagh is situated on 30 acres of grounds in the Dublin suburb of Cappagh, Finglas. A short commute from Dublin City Centre, the Hospital is conveniently located close to the M50 Motorway which connects north and south Dublin and provides rapid access to all national arterial routes from Dublin.
Frequent bus services transport patients and visitors from the City Centre, surrounding areas, the Red Line Luas at Broombridge and Connolly and Heuston Train Stations.
The Hospital has nine car parking spaces designated to disabled parking permit holders and a further 154 standard car parking spaces.
Good food and nutrition are essential to health, wellbeing and recovery. Each day the Restaurant & Catering Service prepares high-quality food for inpatients, visitors to the Hospital and members of our staff.
