Patients can choose from the following payment options:

Use the secure payments system on the National Orthopaedic Hospital Cappagh website.

Pay a bill

In Person

Cash, cheque and credit card payments are accepted at the Cash Office.

Debit and Credit Card payments are accepted at +353 (1) 814 0497/0466 in the morning from 9.00 am – 1.00 pm and in the afternoon from 2.00 pm – 4.30 pm. The office closes from 1.00 pm – 2.00 pm daily.

Bank Transfer

If you wish to make a bank transfer, bank account details can be located on your hospital bill.

€80 per day statutory charge (up to a maximum charge of €800 in a rolling 12 month period).
Semi-Private Patients with Health Cover

Parents of Paediatric Patients €15 per day
Non-National Patients
Non-National Patients must pay the full economic cost of their treatment. Please contact Patient Accounts for further details:

  • The National Orthopaedic Hospital Cappagh accepts patients on a referral basis only. Patients are referred by a GP, acute hospital or hospital consultant.
  • Medical Cards must be valid at the time of treatment.
  • Payment terms are strictly 30 days from date of invoice.

Members of the following schemes should check with their insurance provider to ascertain the benefits available to them under their policy:

  • An Garda Siochana
  • MPF-ESB
  • POMAS (Prison Officers Medical Aid Society)
  • Private Health Insurance Schemes (Aviva, Irish Life, Laya, VHI)
  • Private Sports Schemes

Inpatient Hospital charges include the provision of:

  • Anaesthetic
  • Casting
  • Consultant services
  • Diagnostic services: laboratory and radiology
  • Interventional radiology
  • Laboratory tests
  • Medical implants
  • Meals and refreshments
  • Nursing care
  • Therapies

Additional Charges
Specialist therapeutic devices to aid mobility and practical living are available from Occupational Therapy, at an additional cost.

Refund Policy

Refunds resulting from an overpayment or credit, and applied for within 4 months of the initial transaction, will be made to the debit/credit card used for the original payment transaction.

Alternatively, refund applications made 4 months or more after the initial transaction will be made by EFT payment to the patient’s bank account.
