The National Orthopaedic Hospital Cappagh (NOHC) is Ireland’s largest elective orthopaedic centre. The hospital provides a comprehensive national service catering to patients with lower and upper limb and spinal conditions. Each year, we welcome more than 26,000 patients to the hospital and perform c.4,000 surgical procedures including major joint replacement and revision surgeries, bone tumour biopsy and resection, complex limb reconstruction and scoliosis surgeries. NOHC is renowned for its pioneering work in medicine, introducing many firsts that have revolutionised the Irish medical landscape.
The Hospital ranked first of 40 public hospitals for overall patient experience in the 2021 and 2022 National Inpatient Experience Survey (HIQA) and was counted among Ireland’s top 150 Best Employers by the Sunday Independent 2023 and 2023 listings.

NOHC is a teaching hospital where students are trained to become qualified medical professionals. Your consultant orthopaedic surgeon may request your permission to include students in your consultation or procedure, however, this is entirely optional, and you can decline the request without affecting your treatment in any way.
